Spring! Sort Of...........

Today FELT like spring...took Wee One to a local park and packed a picnic lunch. Ham sandwich, oatmeal cookie and baby carrots and a yummy Apple Chicken Salad and baby carrots for me. I have to say the Chicken Salad would be awesome with a Whole Wheat Pita or Melba Toast...Just used some canned chicken packed in water, plain Greek yogurt and cut up Granny Smith Apples.

Of course I had to start on a project, making nice diaper covers for an order and putting the finishing touches...I love the soft blues I choose (Knit Picks Brava: Baby Blue) even better when the colors combine for the thoughts of a warm spring of just right temperatures.

Unfortunately I do not have a pattern for this project (which will be seen in a future post) but I loved the color so much I thought I would show you...reminds me of the sunny day at the park with Wee One with blue skies and whipped cream clouds...after a winter of so much snow...it is earned....

Wee One Crafting

I have taken to crocheting, I can see my wee one sit and watch in awe as I direct the slow movement of the hook to produce a stitch. Setting aside her toys she quietly watches as the stitches on my latest granny blanket grow bigger and bigger.
This blanket was made for a coworker who is expecting her first Baby and a girl at that! The ruffled edges give a nice touch and she stated in ASL that it was "PERFECT". While I was making this blanket, Wee One wanted to try a few stitches so with me acting as a guide she came up with this

Knotting the tale together she made a double bracelet she still keeps on her little dresser. Not bad for being five....

Introduction

Hello and welcome to S.Butterfly Lane. The "S" stands for Steel...like "tough as" with a butterfly touch. I wanted a place to show off my crafting and maybe even make some new friends. I initially was introduced to Fiber Arts by my Grandmother, but for years put aside the venture and was reintroduced when I saw Marines making beautiful dream catchers and crafty items while on guard duty while I was in the Military. When asked one chimed in with "Well, we have to relax SOMEHOW!". You would be surprised how many Veterans actually do crafting, beautiful works of Art to adjust to certain disabilities. So this is my Journey.
